Optical networks

The fastest transmission medium, they use the speed of light to transmit data. Thanks to them, we can communicate with users on other continents in a fraction of a second. But they also offer other benefits, thanks to which they are increasingly used as a solution for internal data networks.

How do we proceed with the design of optical networks?

Optical networks provide communication infrastructure for at least the next 50 years. Therefore, it is necessary to consider not only the passive part of the network, the technology that we will install on top of this modern infrastructure, but also many other factors. That is why we consider:

  • the present and the possible future of the area, building, or space in which the optical network is being built, both from the point of view of available technologies and from the point of view of future changes in the purpose of use
  • construction solution and availability of individual parts of the network for future additions or modifications to the network
  • possible property rights changes to the object or territory and the resulting requirements for changing the infrastructure
  • individual concepts and technologies from the point of view of availability, price, parameters, but also from the point of view of a certain timelessness.

As part of our services, we provide:

  • analysis of the client’s requirements from the point of view of the use of the optical network
  • analysis of possible future changes from the point of view of the modularity of the proposed solution
  • design and projection of the optical network
  • realization of cable routes, splicing of optical fibers
  • installation of passive and active components of the entire network
  • measurement of optical links
  • operation and service of the optical network

After the installation of distributions is completed, all cable routes are measured with a certified measuring device in accordance with the ISO/IEC 11801 2nd Edition, Am1 & AM2 standard. A measurement protocol defining the physical and transmission parameters of the given route is drawn up for each route.

The difference between optical and metallic cabling

Optical cabling is used to create a data network just like metallic cabling. The main difference is that in this case fibre optic cables are used, which can be used over much greater distances than metallic. With their help, higher transmission speeds can also be achieved.

What can an optical infrastructure system contain?

  • Optic cable
  • Optical terminals (pigtails)
  • LC connecting cable
  • Connector
  • Optical baths
  • Optical cartridge
  • Adapters
  • Active device (switch)

Combination
with other systems

From the point of view of installation and operation possibilities, optical networks are suitable for many environments as a carrier data network for any systems that need a stable, fast and durable connection.

They can be used to connect telecommunication operators with end customers, to connect computers within the company network, but also to connect fire alarm control panels, for camera systems, Wi-Fi infrastructure, electricity meter readings or measurement and regulation.
